For up and coming creators, it can be hard to shoot a commercial, you have to get a fancy camera, you need to find a location, you need need to get a crew together, it is very much an expensive investment. Since you would need to watch your budget, you can get stock footage from great websites like Adobe Dot com. Today I will tell you how good all the stock footage websites are, and how designers use it.

Here is were I found most of these sites and quoted from.

Adobe.com

49 for every video clip

This is the premiere place to get the best and most high quality stock footage for your projects, it is very easy to use this website as well. There are also forums to help you out if you don.t know how to use those the footage, they can give you some ideas

Story Blocks

16.58 per month.

‘Story Blocks offers more than 100,000 royalty free stock videos. Once you download a file it is yours to keep and use forever, royalty-free, even if you change your subscription or cancel your account.

In addtion to this Storyblocks also offers another stock media library called the Marketplace. This is where customers can purchase clips directly from contributors.

This provides more options for video editors if they can’t find what they’re looking for in the unlimited library. They can head over to the Marketplace to find more content at a discounted price.’

Artgrid

Price; 25 per month.

Artgrid’s yearly subscription is very attractive, giving full access to their catalogue, unlimited downloads and a license that covers use on any platform. To top it off, any clip you download with an active subscription is yours forever to reuse. We now get 2 months free with all subscriptions!

With 3 pricing plans, there’s something for all types of creators – JuniorCreator and Pro. Each of them differ in the resolution and format of the footage available to download with full access to the entire catalogue.

Pro subscribers get access to ungraded Raw and LOG files, which give filmmakers amazing flexibility. When it comes to resolution, most of the footage comes in 4k, while 8K is also available.

VideoHive

The royalty free footage on VideoHive is very affordable. So it’s a great site if you just want to dip your toe into stock video or grab a quick clip for a beginner project.

But as with many sites, the quality does suffer slightly at a lower price point, so be careful what you spend your credits on.

iStock

60 is average buying price.

iStock was originally known as iStockPhoto, but then re branded to account for the diverse range of content on the site. Video editors, bloggers, brands and filmmakers flock to site to obtain quality stock videos.

iStock is one of the least expensive stock video sites on our list and has some relatively flexible payment options.

What is a Creative Commons License?

Creative Commons (CC) is an internationally active non-profit organisation that provides free licences for creators to use when making their work available to the public. These licences help the creator to give permission for others to use the work in advance under certain conditions.”

Article D4: Video Editing Terms and Details

This is the source for our featured image in this article, thanks to the person who shot this.

http://poool.co.uk/jasmine-blog/2014/10/17/difference-between-online-and-offline-editing

Video editing is a very good skill to have. It is very important in fact, but not many people seem to acknowledge it to much, not as much as the main people you see in a video, but if it was not for the editor, the video would not be as pretty as you see now would it not? They are in charge of making sure everything still looks presentable for the consumer, they may help connect with the viewer with combination of clips images and sounds.

What is the difference between Linear & Non-Linear Video Editing? Which is most common? Why are they both important?

https://collections.museumsvictoria.com.au/articles/2786

Non-linear editing is a non destructive way of editing, and linear is for more straight forward purposes. Linear seems to be more common.

Linear video editing describes a process in which scenes are copied from one video tape to another, using two tape VCRs, in the order required. The new tape is thus created in a linear fashion. The disadvantage of this method is that it is not possible to insert or delete scenes from the new tape without re-copying all the subsequent scenes. Linear editing was the method originally used with analogue video tapes.”

Non-linear video editing is achieved by loading the video material into a computer from analogue or digital tape. The editing process creates a new ‘tape’ by storing all the commands entered by the operator. This method allows the operator to cut, copy and paste scenes in any order and make any changes desired. At the completion of the editing process the computer can then build a new file by applying the commands to the original digital image stored on the disk. The original digital image on the disk is unchanged. The new video file can then be outputted to a video tape, attached to an email or posted to the web.”

-collections

What is the difference between Offline & Real Time editing? What makes them different from each other, and why are both techniques
used?

https://sarahcollins410.wordpress.com/2017/12/08/offline-vs-real-time-editing/

“Offline editing is when the editor takes raw footage and makes a duplicate of it an makes it a compressed file such as an immediate codec.”

“Real time video editing is where the video  that is being worked on takes no more time to render than the length of the clip is long. This system of editing content is typically used with broadcasters with large computer systems and high powered hard drives.”

What is Batch Processing and Project Trimming, why are they important to video editing?

According to the google dictionary, batch processing is an industrial process on material in batches of a limited quantity or number.

Project trimming is an act of making less stuff for your project.

First one is for organizing data, the other is so you do not lose focus.

Article D2: Multimedia Production Teams

https://unsplash.com/@thenewmalcolm This is the person I got the picture on the article from, he took the picture. Thank you for letting me use it.

Let explain to you how it works to put together a multimedia team. There are many roles in a Team you have to consider, they are all required for the machine to function, for the gears to turn. Never forget this when you are organizing a team. You need to have a leader for ever individual role for your company, other wise, you will be unsuccessful in any of your business en devours.

Creative Director

Creative directors are the creative leads at advertising and marketing companies, working with designers, artists, copywriters, sales teams and marketers to create a vision for products sold. Creative directors plan advertising, oversee the creative process and give guidance to the creative people that work under them.”

Project Manager

Responsible for the organization planning and locating resources, they set budget, and make sure the idea is executed successfully, including Software and app development.

Content Editors

Content editing, also known as substantive editing, comprehensive editing, macro editing, or heavy editing, is a form of copy editing that evaluates the overall formatting, style, and content of a document in order to optimize visual design and comprehensibility.

Videographers

”A videographer is someone who is responsible for recording live events and small scale video productions. Videographers focus on smaller productions like documentaries, live events, short films, legal depositions, weddings, birthday parties, sports events, commercials, and training videos.”

My source for this quote is below.

Audio Engineers

Responsible for all the sound and voice recording and sound creating. Makes sure that its all balanced/mixed. Basically with this guy your project would not be as alive as it would be with audio.

How do they work together?

Well basically, the videographer and the audio engineer would work perfectly together, combination of what you see in the video and what the engineer does to make it stand out will be perfect. The content manager edit it to make sure everything looks and sounds good together. Planner has a perfect guideline for the whole team to go off of, and creative director basically made the whole idea and tells everyone what his vision is about this project since he knows what he wants. He also advertises the project for the audience. These are all important to multimedia because it brings life to a project. I guess a normal director would be important too.

Article D1: Audio Design, Capturing, Editing & the Designers who do it

https://unsplash.com/@jasonrosewell Thanks to this person for the featured image for this article.

SEO, SEM and Online Reputation Management & SEO Jobs. Do you know exactly what these things even are? Do you? I know I did not when i just started, but through learning this in my class, I have a lot more experience than I did before, although i still have a lot to learn.

S E O or Search Engine Optimization, is what a lot of people who are in business for any reason whatsoever, are basically trying to get his or her name out there and build up a reputation. In this article I found about S E O and how important it is, and it makes good points.

Wrong.

Here’s the truth:

Most people who run websites have a limited understanding of SEO, so you often only need to get the basics right to succeed.” –ilia markov

I put a link to the article i am talking about in the quoted person’s name. Please feel free to check it out.

Article C7: Animated Web Content & Web Animator Jobs

Thanks to this guy for the wonderful image that is featured on the front.

Web design can be really challenging at times, but there is a reason why it needs to be done. The internet is something that is really important to our daily life and getting important information for jobs and work. I bet you are wondering how we use the web banners in the modern landscape for a company. I think that it is pretty simple actually, they want people to know the company’s name, what better way to do it by putting it on any website even when it has nothing to do with the product, the graphic designers making these have to be smart about it. Now I will pull up some great examples online of animated web banners that are really good or really ugly.

5 different web banner ads I found online

National Geographics I Web Banner by Daniel Gom. on Dribbble
This web banner is for the TV channel National Geographic, this one has quite a lot to look at, it shows you every thing you need to know about it while looking pleasing to the eye and seamlessly looping for people looking at it. The colors are very tantalizing, while the photos that they chose make appreciate nature like they want you to.
McDonalds — Tom Fawbush
I do not need to tell you what this one is. This tells you what it is about successfully, but in terms of the animation itself, it is a little basic looking, but I suppose it is more about the food than it sis about it looking cool.
Web Ads and Banners — Yuping Qin
This custom web banner is not one of the best things I have found online when it comes to this article, the colors are alright I guess but it is a little to boring to stand out to me. The image in side the screen seems to be way to colorful compared to the colors they chose for the banner itself.
STARBUCKS ANIMATED ADS FOR POSUGAR - Peyton Leng/Graphic Designer
I do not have much to say about this one, but I think that it is really nice looking. It animates well too.
The First-Ever Banner Ad on the Web - The Atlantic
Okay this one just hurts my eyes, and does not make me want whatever they are selling.

“The Creative Group (TCG) is looking for a Multimedia Designer who is deeply passionate about creating dynamic designs. If you’re a self-starter who combines the technical knowledge of creative software with excellent design skills, this may be the job for you.”

Article C8: Making Animated Web Content

Featured image

So, we are talking more about animated web content, its a very interesting field, one that adds personality to your company and makes sure its not stale, but how exactly do they do what they do, well I have some information about how to actually start making it, Later on, I will talk about things you need to think about in terms of design logic. So here is some info from a journalist about how to get started with it.

HOW they do the things they do, the answer.

https://design.tutsplus.com/tutorials/how-to-make-an-effective-web-banner–cms-32610

The article in question is right here if you want read, below is an excerpt from the intro.

”Website banners: we see them every day, and they are a great addition to your marketing campaign. In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to make a banner. Banner designs and banner templates are composed of a couple of key elements: an offer and a call to action. You can add your logo if you’d like, and an image to enhance the message.”

“The offer needs to be concise and to the point. You have to let your readers know what you are promoting. The call to action is a text/button that will invite your consumer to your website. Short phrases like “Shop Now” or “Subscribe” are great anchors.”

-laura keung from design tuts plus.

The most popular program for making a web banner seems to be something called Fiverr. This is a codding program used for all sorts of web design. According to this other article I found, its one very popular program.

shoutmeloud.com/banner-ad-maker-software.html

“This is one website that I often use for getting the banner ad design done. There are many talented designer who are offering their design skills for hire. You can get animated HTML 5 banner ads in your brand design within matter of hours. This is perfect for busy marketers, who understand the benefits of outsourcing.”

Harsh Agrawal- of shoutmeloud.com

What is a Time line? What is it used for? And what is a Key Frame Animation? Who makes them?

A time line is where the frames of the animation are placed used to make the project come to life. You can layer then over each other to make the animation as cool as possible.

A key frame is the simplest form of animating an object according to this site: http://web.arch.virginia.edu/arch545/handouts/keyframing.html#:~:text=Keyframing%20is%20the%20simplest%20form,to%20some%20different%20final%20form.&text=This%20keyframe%20is%20%22Box%20at%20End%22.

It is simply based on the notion that an object has a starting state that changes over time, in all sorts of ways to put it bluntly. All web designers use this feature in some sort of unique way. Adobe animate, Motion Builder, blender, cinema 4D, Maya and Pencil 2D are some of many animation programs that use key framing.

This one is another very inviting example, bright colors like these for your web banner like this always makes it look more like fun.
